What Learners Say

A selection of responses from people who completed our programmes.

WP

Wanida Phantharaksin

Data analyst, Bangkok

"I had tried two other online courses before Panya and found myself lost around week three both times. The Foundations course here was different — things were introduced slowly and each exercise actually matched what had just been explained. I finished it and felt like I understood what I had done."

TC

Thanakorn Chai-urai

Software developer, Chiang Mai

"The Applied Deep Learning track covered a lot of ground, and I appreciated that each section had a project rather than just reading. Some parts took me longer than others, but the support was there when I needed it — my questions were answered properly, not just with a link to documentation."

NS

Natcha Suwannarat

Research coordinator, Bangkok

"I did the Capstone programme after finishing the two courses. Having a mentor who knew my work well made a real difference — she could point out things that were specific to what I was building rather than just giving general advice. I ended up with a project I genuinely wanted to show people."

KP

Kornwipa Prasertsri

Graduate student, Khon Kaen

"I was nervous about starting something in English but the language in the course felt manageable. Technical terms were introduced carefully and the exercises were clear. I studied on weekends around my other commitments and it worked out well."

AT

Apirat Thongphan

Business analyst, Bangkok

"Good course, well structured. I would say the deep learning track moved a bit faster in the later sections, but support was available when I got stuck and responses were useful. I'd recommend it to anyone who already has a bit of Python under their belt."

PK

Pimlapas Kamonwat

Marketing strategist, Bangkok

"I came to Panya with no coding background at all. The Foundations course did not assume you already knew things — it built from where I actually was. I was not the quickest student, and that was fine. Nothing felt rushed."

Learner Journeys

Three learners, three starting points, and where each of them arrived.

STARTING POINT

No technical background

Wanida worked in operations analytics, using Excel daily, but had never written code. She wanted to move into data science roles but felt the technical gap was too wide to cross without structured help.

APPROACH

Foundations course over 10 weeks

She completed Foundations studying four to five hours on weekends, taking longer on the data preprocessing sections where she asked the support team questions twice. Both times received detailed responses within the day.

OUTCOME

First ML model, new role application

By the end of the course Wanida had built a working classification model using real data from her own field. She used it as a portfolio piece when applying for analyst roles with a data science component.

STARTING POINT

Developer with basic Python

Thanakorn had written Python for web development but had no machine learning background. He wanted to add ML capabilities to his work and needed a course that would not re-teach Python basics he already knew.

APPROACH

Applied Deep Learning (skipped Foundations)

After a brief conversation with the team to confirm he had the right background, Thanakorn enrolled directly in Applied Deep Learning. He completed it over eight weeks while working full-time.

OUTCOME

Image classifier integrated into own project

He finished the track with enough understanding to integrate a convolutional network into a side project he had been planning for a year. The practical project approach in the course made this transition straightforward.

STARTING POINT

Both prior courses completed

Natcha had completed Foundations and Applied Deep Learning over six months. She felt confident with the technical side but was unsure how to bring her ideas together into a coherent independent project.

APPROACH

Capstone Mentorship over 12 weeks

Her mentor helped her narrow a vague research idea into a scoped project. Sessions happened fortnightly, with written feedback between each. The first three sessions focused on defining the data and what success would look like.

OUTCOME

Completed research classification model

Natcha completed a text classification project drawing on research paper abstracts in her field. She presented it to colleagues at her institution and is continuing to develop it independently after the programme ended.
