Our Story

Panya began in Bangkok in 2019, when a small group of software engineers and educators noticed a gap. Plenty of AI resources existed online, but most felt rushed — either too shallow to be useful or too technical to follow without substantial prior knowledge. Learners in Thailand, in particular, often had to piece things together across multiple sources taught in styles that did not suit them.

We started with a single question: what would a course look like if it were truly designed around the learner's pace, rather than a fixed syllabus deadline? The answer became Panya — a name drawn from the Thai word for wisdom, reflecting our belief that knowledge built carefully is knowledge that holds.

Over the years we refined our approach, adding one-to-one mentorship, expanding our curriculum to include applied deep learning, and listening closely to feedback from every learner who passed through our programmes. Today Panya remains a modest but focused school — we are not trying to serve thousands at once. We would rather do this well for the people in front of us.

To offer structured, English-language AI education that respects the learner's time, intelligence, and existing commitments. We aim to make each course feel like a conversation rather than a lecture — one that welcomes questions, acknowledges difficulty honestly, and celebrates progress at every stage.

What "Panya" Means

"Panya" (ปัญญา) is a Thai and Pali word meaning wisdom — the kind that comes not from speed, but from attention and reflection over time. It captures exactly how we think about learning AI.

Nattakarn Kaewsiri

Founder & Lead Educator

A former data scientist with eight years in industry, Nattakarn founded Panya after teaching informally at community meetups in Bangkok. She leads curriculum design and the Foundations course.

Peerawat Thongchai

Deep Learning Instructor

Peerawat holds an MSc in Machine Learning and has worked on applied neural network projects across healthcare and logistics. He leads the Applied Deep Learning track and brings real project experience into every lesson.

Somying Watthanarat

Mentorship Coordinator

Somying coordinates the Capstone Mentorship Program and matches each learner with a suitable mentor. She focuses on making sure every person feels supported through the final stretch of their project.

How we maintain the quality and integrity of every course we offer.

Instructor Qualification

All instructors hold relevant academic qualifications or demonstrated industry experience in machine learning and AI, and go through a structured onboarding process before teaching.

Regular Curriculum Review

We review course content every six months to keep pace with developments in the field and incorporate feedback from learners who have completed each programme.

Data Privacy

Learner data is handled carefully and never shared with third parties for marketing. We operate in line with applicable Thai data protection frameworks and keep data only as long as needed.

Ongoing Learner Support

Enrolled learners have access to support via email during business hours. Questions are answered within one working day, and we make an effort to give thoughtful, useful replies.

Clear Course Documentation

Every course comes with a clear outline of what will be covered, what is expected of learners, and what they can realistically take away — before they enrol.

Learner Feedback Loop

After each course, participants are invited to share detailed feedback. We read every response and use it directly in shaping the next iteration of each programme.

AI Development Education in Bangkok

Panya occupies a particular space in the Thai education landscape: an English-language school focused solely on AI and machine learning, built for learners who want depth over speed. Most of our participants are working professionals — engineers, analysts, and researchers — who want to move into AI work or add these skills to their existing practice.

Our three programmes — from foundational machine learning through to applied deep learning and individual mentorship — are designed to connect with each other. A learner might begin with Foundations, move to Applied Deep Learning once they have a footing, and then undertake the Capstone Mentorship to bring everything together in a personal project. Equally, someone with existing knowledge can join at the point that suits them.

Being based in Bangkok means we understand the realities of studying around work commitments, navigating English technical content as a second language, and the cultural context of learning in Thailand. We factor all of this into how our courses are built and how we communicate with participants. Panya is a small school by design — and we think that makes a meaningful difference to the experience of every person who enrols with us.
